Tah Dah!

All inventory is FINALLY shelved at our new location in beautiful Bacova Virginia.  Now all we have to do is organize the ephemera and the art work.

Good News/Bad News

The good news- is our 38 new bookcases were finally delivered...

The bad news- some assembly required....

Closed!

We closed yesterday on the new location of Windy Hill Books.  The location is in beautiful Bath County, Virginia and was an historic chapel, then a senior center and most recently an upscale art gallery.

....now all that is left is the minor detail of moving EVERTHING 83 miles

On the Road Again...

Well we are in the process of moving the business, lock, stock and books for the 4th time in 23 years, which does not sound too bad until you realize that we need to pack, ship, unpack and then reshelve 20,000 books. Oy....

Step one in in process.... a new location has been found and hopefully will be closed on this month. New book boxes have been ordered, delivered and are sitting in the corner. I hope we have learned enough from our previous moves to have this one go fairly smoothly but each move seems to have it's own share of surprises.

Newbery and Caldecott 2016

Our winter vacation was lovely but resulted in me completely losing track of the announcement for the Children's Books Awards which will be TOMORROW!! Jan 11th at 8:00am EST.

Do I have any of the potential medal and honor books in stock?  Of course not, I was too busy judging the merits of different rum punch recipes in the Caribbean to do my usual pre award hunt and gather.
