Another 70's dust jacket

This one a bit more abstract in design (and a larger file size!)

The Faber Book of Northern Legends, edited by Kevin Crossley-Holland, illustrated by Alan Howard. Published by Faber & Faber, 1977.

1970's Dust Jacket art

Dust jacket art can be a reflection of the trends and fashions of the decades in which the books were published. In the 70's the trend was more for poster or graphic art.   A charming example:

How to Give a Party by Jean and Paul Frame. Publisher, NY: Franklin Watts, 1972.

Story Parade Magazine

It's always a fun to check the old children's magazines like Jack and Jill or Story Parade for collectible authors and illustrators. Both the covers above are by Caldecott winning artist Feodor Rojankovsky who also illustrated interior stories and the December 1952 magazine has stories illustrated by Flavia Gag, Mordvinoff (another Caldecott winner) and William Wiesner amoung others.

One step at a time...

Of the 12,600 out of print and collectible books I currently have listed online, to date, I have scanned and uploaded images for 3,051 of them.  At a rate of 40-50 a day (and this is WITH help) I should be done sometime in 2014.   Bleh!

And only if I DON"T add any new inventory.... double BLEH!!
